We have a temendous job trying to keep this beautiful museum open for all to enjoy, and to keep it maintained, as it should be.
We are strictly a volunteer group; no one receives any compensation for their time or work. More volunteers and members are needed at all times, and funding for the museum is becoming critical. Our main income is from the sale of the history books, an afghan featuring historical buildings from each area of the county, a pillow featuring the jail and water tower as they were in former times, and from new memberships, and a small amount from tour group donations, and other vistors.
We have received some cash donations, some memorials, and bequests which are always appreciated. Periodically the membership has sponsored dinners, and fund raising projects, but these do not furnish enough funds to keep the grounds mowed, the utilities paid, and the yearly maintenance. All help and suggestions toward these project will be greatly appreciated. We have the 501c3 status, so any cash or other donations may be tax deductible.
We invite all groups-civic, private, and individuals to get involved in this most worthy cause and to tour the museum when it opens in MAY for the summer season. Schools and groups of all kinds are welcome for tours by appointment.
We feel that we have a great asset to our county and area and need the support from everyone, so that we can keep this institution open for many more generations to visit and enjoy. For more information, you may Email or write us at 510 N. Mason, Carrollton, MO 64633
