New Subscriber Installation

Hi-Tech Computer Services has contracted with Carrollton Internet Services for all new installations and ongoing service requests. Hi-Tech's technician will come to your residence or place of business and install any needed software (web browser and/or email client) and configure the computer to dial in to our service. The customer must already have his computer connected to a phone line and have the system disks or CD-rom available. Setup time allowed is thirty minutes. The technician will do the following:

• Configure network settings (TCP/IP settings)
• Make new dial-up networking connection (Carrollton Internet Services)
• Disable dialing of area and country code
• Create a shortcut on desktop for Carrollton Internet Services
• Check settings and operation of modem
• Install and/or setup web browser (MS Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator)
• Set start-up/home page to www.carolnet.com
• Configure email client for incoming and outgoing mail
• Set email client to send outgoing mail immediately
• Send a test email to customer's address to check outgoing and incoming
• Check Internet icon in Control Panel for "Dial as needed"
• Test setup by clicking on web browser icon
• Check shutdown for window to allow disconnect (if no window, give instructions)
• Reconnect again and show customer home page highlights
• Demonstrate how to check account status

When the customer's computer is operating normally, is connected to a phone line, and the operating system disks or CD (Window 95) is available, setup time is thirty minutes or less.

Setup does not include answering questions about other computer programs or software. The Hi-Tech technician may be able to answer such questions, but any time required exceeding the initial thirty minutes, will be billed by Hi-Tech at their current rate of $20.00 per one-half hour.
