It is time to be thinking about fall CCD classes. There are sign-up sheets on the table in back
of church. Parents, your child is
automatically signed up if they were in CCD last year. Please make sure their name is spelled
correctly and we have their correct age on the sign-up sheets. You may initial beside your child’s name on
the sheet and this will let us know that you intend to enroll them again this
year and that all information about your child is correct. Thank you.
There is also a sign-up sheet for teachers to volunteer to teach/aide or
substitute for a teacher.
St.
Mary’s Parish Council will meet Wednesday evening, July 29, 2009, at 7:00
p.m. Please
note this is a date change.

Wednesday night Mass
will be moved to Tally Hall at St. Mary’s during the summer months.
Immaculate Conception Parish in Lexington, MO is hosting the
Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) youth program again this year. It will be July 6-10, 2009. This program is for grades 1-6 and teenagers
in Jr. High School. This is a summer
catechetical youth program taught by Seminarians and college students. Days are filled with daily Mass, songs, games
and recess. Registration forms are
available from Immaculate Conception, Lexington, 60-259-3043. Cost:
$15 for children and $10 for teenagers.
Children attend from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and teenagers go from 6:00
p.m. – 9:00 p.m. All the kids last year
had a great time. The Catholic Key is
coming out this year to take pictures.
The annual servers
picnic at Conception Abbey will be Wednesday and Thursday, July 8 and 9,
2009. This event is for servers who have
served 10 or more times during the period from July 1 to June 30. We will leave from St. Mary’s parking lot on
Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. and from Sacred Heart Church at 8:15 a.m. Parents, please remember to complete the
General Release of Liability form and Facility Use Agreement for your
child. Also, please have a copy of your
medical insurance card with these forms.
These forms must accompany each one going to Conception Abbey.
The
Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration will host their annual Summer Monastic
Experience July 8-14, 2009, at their community in Clyde, MO. The week-long residential program invites
single women ages 18-49 without children who might be discerning a call to
contemplative monastic life. There is no
cost to participate in the program, but reservations must be made in advance by
June 20th. For more

Bishop Finn’s Retreat for young men high school age will be held
at the Franciscan Prayer Center in Independence, MO, from July 12-14, 2009
(July 15 optional). The retreat is for
young men graduating 8th graders through graduating seniors. The cost if $50 which covers basic retret,
meals and overnight accommodations. The
cost is $20 for the optional activity day.
Registration deadline is July 1, 2009.

Each Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., the
Prayer Group at St. Mary’s meets in the Chapel in Tally Hall. If you would like to attend, they would love
to have you join them.
Please remember when you can not serve as a
Mass Assistant on the day you have been scheduled, it is your responsibility to
find someone to take your place. Thank you!
If
you have items of interest for the bulletin or would like a Mass said, please
call the Parish Office with your need instead of telling Fr. or Cheryl in other
places besides church or the Parish Office. If that is not handy for you,
please give them your request in writing so that it will not be forgotten when
they return to the Parish Office. If you have money, please put it in an

On the Lighter Side...
PRAYER: One Sunday in a Midwest City,
a young child was “acting up” during the morning worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain some
sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. Finally, the father picked the little fellow
up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer,
the little one called loudly to the congregation, “Pray for me! Pray for me!”
